As an institution dedicated to fostering learning, innovation, and progress, Osiri University recognizes that the wellbeing of our employees is foundational to achieving our mission. While our educational model is fully online, our administrative and academic staff operate from our office in the United States, working diligently to support students, faculty, and partners around the world.
Mental health in the workplace is not a secondary concern. It is a fundamental aspect of creating a healthy, productive, and sustainable work environment.
Understanding the Mental Health Landscape
The modern workplace presents both opportunities and challenges. For staff working in fast-paced academic environments, supporting diverse learners and managing complex systems, the risk of stress, fatigue, and emotional strain is real.
At Osiri, we aim to create a culture where mental wellbeing is actively supported and where seeking help is understood as a sign of self-awareness, not weakness.
What We’re Doing to Support Mental Wellbeing
We have developed a structured approach to workplace mental health, built around access, awareness, and care.
The Osiri Wellbeing Hub
Available via the Employee Portal, the Wellbeing Hub offers research-informed guidance on stress management, work-life integration, and mental wellness. It also provides direct access to support resources and educational materials.
Counseling and Support Services
Osiri employees based in the United States have access to confidential counseling services through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). These services are offered at no cost and are designed to support staff through personal or work-related challenges.
Wellbeing Hours and Recharge Days
Departments are encouraged to integrate periodic “wellbeing hours” into the workweek – brief, designated time for rest, reflection, or quiet activity. In addition, employees may access mental health days without requiring documentation, acknowledging the diverse ways individuals experience and manage stress.
Onsite Workshops and Educational Sessions
We host monthly workshops that address topics such as emotional resilience, cognitive wellness, and the science of rest. These sessions are facilitated by professionals in mental health and organizational psychology, and are open to all staff.
Everyday Practices That Support Mental Health
While institutional policies are important, small individual and team practices also contribute significantly to a healthy work environment. Staff are encouraged to:
- Take regular breaks away from their workstations
- Communicate proactively with managers about workload and wellbeing
- Establish boundaries around work hours to protect personal time
- Use their earned leave fully and without hesitation
- Participate in available wellbeing sessions and workplace community initiatives
Building a Sustainable Work Culture
At Osiri University, we believe that academic and operational excellence cannot be separated from human wellbeing. A workplace that respects the mental health of its people is not only more compassionate—it is more effective, resilient, and aligned with our institutional values.
