University Governance

Osiri University upholds strong governance guided by legislation, ensuring transparency, accountability, and adherence to laws that protect academic freedom.

Institutional Governance Framework
Osiri University operates under a founding Charter and is guided by a growing network of advisors and elders committed to good governance, academic freedom, and Ubuntu values.

The University Consists of:

  • Chancellor
  • Vice Chancellor
  • Council of Elders
  • Registrar
  • Faculties and Program Directors

In place of traditional bureaucratic structures, Osiri integrates Ubuntu – “I am because we are” – into every level of governance. Decision-making is rooted in collaboration, mutual respect, and shared responsibility, rather than hierarchy alone. The Council of Elders, comprising respected professionals, scholars, and cultural custodians, reflects this commitment to wisdom-led governance.

Data Privacy and Security Policy
Personal information is collected solely for academic and administrative use. We comply with relevant data protection regulations and will never share your data without consent.

Digital Integrity and Etiquette Policy
Online conduct must reflect respect, clarity, and professionalism. Misuse of digital platforms, harassment, or spamming will lead to disciplinary action.

Tuition and Fees Policy
Osiri University is a tuition-free institution. In keeping with our mission to provide equitable, high-quality education guided by Ubuntu principles, no student is charged traditional tuition fees for academic instruction. We believe that cost should not be a barrier to purpose-driven learning and community empowerment.

However, students are required to pay a modest administrative fee that supports the essential operational services needed to deliver programs effectively. This administrative fee covers core functions such as registration, digital learning platform access, records management, academic assessment processing, and graduation documentation. The fee amount is clearly communicated during the admissions process.

Students may choose to pay the administrative fee upfront or through a pre-approved installment plan, which must be arranged before the start of their program. While we offer some flexibility in payment schedules, the administrative fee is strictly non-refundable once a student has been formally admitted and enrollment has been confirmed. This policy ensures the university can allocate the necessary resources to support each admitted learner.

In cases of verified financial hardship, students may request extended payment timelines. Such requests must be submitted in writing and will be reviewed individually, with consideration for maintaining both access and sustainability.

Health, Safety, and Wellness Policy
Osiri supports the holistic wellness of learners and staff. Remote learners are encouraged to maintain routines, mental health, and safe digital practices.

Alumni Relations
Alumni is supported through mentorship networks, continuous learning opportunities, and invitations to events, forums, and impact circles across the Osiri global community.

Strategic Performance & Sustainability Framework

Osiri University’s Commitment to Purpose-Driven Growth

Introduction

At Osiri University, strategic performance is guided by Ubuntu and the university’s commitment to delivering accessible, high-impact education that empowers individuals and uplifts communities. Sustainability at Osiri is defined not only by financial viability, but also by social impact, ethical governance, and our ability to remain responsive to learners, partners, and local realities.

Strategic Focus Areas

Osiri University measures its progress through performance indicators aligned with the following key goals:

  • Academic and Knowledge Impact: Delivery of high-quality, relevant education with strong learner outcomes

  • Social Responsibility and Community Engagement: Contribution to local development and problem-solving through Ubuntu values

  • Organizational Resilience and Sustainability: Efficient systems, financial stability, and ethical governance

  • Digital and Operational Excellence: Reliable, learner-centered systems that support access, growth, and innovation

  • Staff and Learner Well-Being: Holistic support for personal growth, health, and inclusion

Monitoring involves staff, faculty, and students. It is grounded in participatory planning, ongoing data collection, reflective reporting, and regular system review. Tools include internal surveys, peer reviews, analytics, and faculty evaluations.

Osiri embeds quality assurance and participatory accountability into its learning experience. All group assignments across programs include strict peer evaluations. These evaluations promote fairness, collaboration, and active participation, helping students reflect on their contribution and develop interpersonal skills.

Additionally, students are required to complete anonymous digital evaluations of instructors and course modules at the end of each learning cycle. These reviews assess instructor effectiveness, content relevance, and student satisfaction. Feedback is compiled by the Academic Office and informs ongoing curriculum refinement, teaching support, and faculty development.

This learner-driven evaluation model reinforces Osiri’s commitment to continuous improvement, transparency, and co-creation of academic excellence.

  • Osiri’s model of performance is scalable, values-driven, and mission-centered. Rather than duplicating large-institution approaches, Osiri emphasizes:

  • Lean, focused, and culturally grounded systems

  • Meaningful community accountability

  • Digital tools to enhance real-time monitoring and feedback

  • Inclusive governance, with learners viewed as co-creators of success
